Why is UAE your next shooting destination

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a rapidly growing destination for filmmakers around the world. With its modern infrastructure, diverse landscapes, and state-of-the-art facilities, the UAE offers a unique and compelling backdrop for all types of film projects.

‍Whether it’s the futuristic skyline of Dubai, the historic charm of Abu Dhabi, or the stunning natural scenery of the desert and mountains, the UAE has something for every filmmaker. Let’s explore why the UAE is an ideal shooting destination for both local and international film productions.

The Rebate System is on offer!

Abu Dhabi and Dubai are exploring the benefits of offering rebates to filmmakers to shoot in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Abu Dhabi already has a rebate system, overseen by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC), which offers filmmakers up to 30% payback.

‍According to a study commissioned by ADFC, for every AED 1 invested in the production rebate programme, AED 4.5 of GDP will be generated within Abu Dhabi. This multiplier effect is expected to generate a total economic impact of AED 180m in 2014.

‍Dubai, which has already served as a location for several foreign movies, is studying the possibility of introducing a similar rebate system. The move is aimed at attracting more filmmakers to the emirate and diversifying the local economy. Saeed Janahi, Head of Operations at the Dubai Film and TV commission, said that a rebate system would be announced soon, as it exists in most other cities around the world.

Technical Know-How And Support Is Amazing

When it comes to attracting filmmakers, offering rebates is only part of the equation. The real draw for filmmakers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the convenience and support offered by the Dubai Film & Television Commission (DFTC). The DFTC serves as a one-stop shop for filmmakers, assisting with permits and other key requirements before, during, and after the production process. This streamlined approach makes it easier for filmmakers to navigate the process of filming in the UAE, allowing them to focus on their creative vision.

‍Another major draw for filmmakers in the UAE is the range of studios and professional assistance available through Dubai Media City and Abu Dhabi Media Zone. These tax-free media zones serve as creative hotspots for filmmakers of all sizes, offering access to state-of-the-art facilities and a talented workforce. Whether a filmmaker needs help with casting, editing, or special effects, they can find the support they need in these dynamic media zones.

‍Overall, the combination of rebates, streamlined assistance, and world-class facilities make the UAE an increasingly attractive destination for filmmakers from around the world. With the support of organizations like the DFTC and access to the resources available in Dubai Media City and Abu Dhabi Media Zone, filmmakers can bring their creative visions to life in one of the world’s most dynamic and exciting locations.‍

How About Going Tax-Free?

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has established itself as a prime destination for filmmakers by offering a comprehensive range of incentives and support services. One of the key attractions is the availability of tax-free zones, which provide a cost-effective environment for filmmakers to work in. In addition, the UAE offers cost-based rebates to filmmakers who choose to shoot in the country, making it an even more attractive option for production companies looking to save money.

‍Another major advantage of filming in the UAE is the full production support offered by state-of-the-art filming centers. These facilities are equipped with the latest technology and staffed by skilled professionals, allowing filmmakers to produce high-quality content without having to worry about technical issues or logistics. Furthermore, the national filming commission in the UAE is easy to navigate, providing filmmakers with a hassle-free experience and eliminating many of the procedural and bureaucratic demands that can make filming in other countries challenging.
